Vinted Users Share Displeasure Over Sizing Updates

Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information.

This online marketplace has altered its size classifications for women's and children's garments without notifying all shoppers about the modification.

Social Media Backlash

Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing because of the remapping.

The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with other platforms.

It has advised users to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.

Measurement Approach Changes

Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Shopper Experiences

One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

Another user, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated.

Necessary Adjustments

Another shopper, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she stated.

Marketplace Information

The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members.

It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
